Sous Chef Location: Northern Cape Property Type: Luxury Private Game Reserve Salary: Negotiable DOE | Live-in Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury private game reserve in the Northern Cape for an experienced Sous Chef. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled culinary professional to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences and maintaining the highest kitchen standards in a luxury bush environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and present high-quality meals in line with lodge standards
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and minimise wastage
- Assist with menu planning and creative input for new dishes
- Supervise and support junior kitchen staff
- Ensure all dietary requirements are catered for professionally and accurately
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
- Step into the role of Head Chef when required Requirements
- Formal culinary qualification
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef within a luxury lodge, safari camp, or high-end hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work well under pressure in a remote bush environment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and team support skills
- Creative flair with attention to detail in presentation
