Job description

Azure Serverless & API Engineer (APIM Focus) Location: Toronto (Hybrid – 2 days in office weekly) Experience: 5–10 Years Role Overview Drive adoption and implementation of API-first and event-driven architectures on Microsoft Azure. Deliver scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions with minimal infrastructure dependencies.

Provide strong hands-on expertise in Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps.

Azure API Management (APIM) Azure Functions Azure Logic Apps Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) Python TypeScript Power. Shell Key Responsibilities Design and implement serverless solutions using Azure Functions (HTTP triggers, Event Hub, Service Bus, Blob triggers, etc.) Develop and manage APIs using Azure API Management (APIM), including policies, authentication, subscriptions, and developer portal configurations.

Build event-driven workflows using Azure Logic Apps, Event Grid, and Service Bus. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (and where applicable ARM templates). Integrate applications with Azure security services including Azure Key Vault, Managed Identity, and Azure AD. Define and promote engineering best practices for serverless and API-first architecture.

Collaborate with application, security, and platform engineering teams to build reusable patterns and accelerate delivery. Must-Have Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure APIM, Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps. Proven experience in building or implementing enterprise-grade solutions (not limited to support roles).

Strong experience in REST APIs, JSON, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect. Experience with infrastructure setup or structured environment/platform support. Strong coding and automation skills, especially Python and Terraform. Additional Expectations Direct development or implementation experience in enterprise environments (not just support).

Strong understanding of API-first and event-driven architecture principles. Ability to work on end-to-end solution design and implementation for serverless platforms.
