Key Responsibilities
Feasibility & Cost Analysis – Lead the end-to-end logistics inquiry and feasibility analysis for factory material shipments, including cost estimation and the preparation of logistics transport feasibility reports (covering, but not limited to, shipping route options, port resources, transport options, route survey reports where required, and import duty/tax exemption policies).
Tendering Management – Manage the tendering process for logistics service procurement, including supplier pre-qualification/registration, preparation of tender documents, and participation in or organization of the bidding process for logistics services. Operations Execution – Coordinate and supervise the execution of end-to-end logistics operations, including duty/tax exemption applications, marine transport, import customs clearance and inland transportation in the destination country.
Oversee logistics subcontractors to ensure all activities proceed smoothly and in compliance with project requirements. Shipment Coordination – Actively communicate and coordinate shipment plans, work with the China-based logistics engineer to arrange cargo dispatch, monitor the performance of logistics subcontractors, track shipment status in real time, and promptly resolve any abnormal incidents or emergencies.
Customs Support – Liaise with customs authorities and support logistics subcontractors in completing import inspections, brand registration, and other customs-related formalities in Oman. Government Permits – Interface with relevant Omani government authorities (e.g., Customs Administration, Transport Bureau, SEZAD, Port Authority, etc.)
to secure necessary permits, including but not limited to import permits, transport permits, and customs duty exemptions. Insurance & Claims – Arrange cargo insurance procurement, ensure compliance with insurer requirements throughout the execution phase, and, in the event of cargo damage, file timely claims with the insurer.
Requirements
Experience – Minimum of 7 years of cumulative experience in EPC project management or international trade, with at least 5 years dedicated specifically to logistics management. Domain Knowledge – Solid understanding of logistics and procurement processes; a background in the renewable energy industry is a strong plus.
Regulatory & Systems Familiarity – In-depth knowledge of international import/export procedures, Incoterms, customs policies, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Language Skills – Excellent English proficiency, capable of using English for daily communication, negotiation, and contract signing. Soft Skills – Strong logical thinking, outstanding organizational and communication abilities, and proven teamwork skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Work Location – Willingness to be based in Oman and to undertake assignments at overseas project sites (e.g., Middle East, Botswana, etc.) as required by business needs.
