Accounts Payable / Creditors Specialist
Job description
A successful creative business is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist. In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the company's financial records. This full-time, in-office role and reports to the Financial Director.
Responsibilities
Creditors: Manage the creditors books for three group entities with a focus on creditors, including a US based entity. Purchase Orders: Raise and manage POs for the company, ensuring consistent accounting treatment of costs. Controls and Processing: Implement effective controls and processes when processing bills and supplier payments, including reconciliation of accounts, correct remittances and matching to supplier statements.
Accounting Records: Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in the accounting software (Xero), ensuring processing is done accurately and consistently. Cashbook Processing: Process daily cashbook entries, ensuring the cashbook is fully up to date. Cash Payments: Process weekly cash payments according to approved payment lists on the banking profile.
Month end closing: Processing of month end closing journals, including accounting for intercompany transactions.
Requirements
- 5 years' experience as an Accounts Payable/Creditors Specialist/Bookkeeper/Senior Bookkeeper
- Relevant tertiary qualification preferable.
- Excellent Excel skills
- Adept and experienced with Xero accounting software.
- Fastidious attention to detail, record keeping, and accuracy.
- Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and work under pressure.
- Nimble and adaptive thinking.
- Independent working methods requiring decision-making, responsibility, and accountability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
