Job Title: Trade & Forex Specialist – Regional Business Unit Summary: The Trade & Forex Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for all trade-related financial products—including Forex, cross-border, and domestic transactions—within the assigned region or branch network. This individual contributor role plays a critical part in driving trade relationship growth, delivering specialized forex services, and supporting branch banking objectives.
The incumbent is responsible for achieving revenue targets, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ensuring operational excellence across the trade product suite. By acting as a subject matter expert, the role enables sales teams to effectively engage clients, drives product adoption, and contributes to strategic business growth through data-informed insights and process improvements.
Success in this role directly impacts branch performance, customer retention, and overall market competitiveness.
Responsibilities
Execute product and marketing initiatives launched by the central product team across assigned branches. Collaborate with sales teams (RH, BM, SM, SOs) through joint and independent client calls to drive customer acquisition and retention. Achieve income and foreign currency throughput targets for trade and Forex products within assigned branches.
Serve as the primary liaison for client trade-related queries, coordinating with operations, product, and central teams for timely resolution. Manage portfolio quality by monitoring digital activation, product penetration, average monthly balance, and desired value metrics. Provide expert training and guidance to sales and relationship teams on trade and forex products and processes.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with individual and corporate clients to enhance long-term engagement. Ensure customer-centric operations by meeting delivery and service quality standards across all touchpoints. Analyze competitor strategies and gather customer feedback to evaluate and refine growth initiatives.
Recommend process enhancements to improve service efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across the branch network. Regularly report on Trade and FX transaction performance and trends to key stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Commerce, Arts, Science, Biology, Business, Computers, or Management. 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in trade finance, foreign exchange, or related banking functions. Proven track record in achieving revenue and transaction volume targets in a branch or regional banking environment.
Strong knowledge of trade products (e.g., LCs, collections, remittances), Forex instruments, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to train and influence sales and relationship teams as a subject matter expert. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a client-first mindset. Proficiency in CRM systems, reporting tools, and digital banking platforms.
Experience in process optimization and cross-functional collaboration across operations, product, and central teams.
