Job description

The CCO designs and executes the company's commercial roadmap to transition traditional farming markets over to biological alternatives. Strategic Market Positioning Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute the long-term commercial strategy to launch and scale bio fertilisers, bio stimulants, and organic soil conditioners.

Market Penetration: Identify high-potential geographic regions and crop segments to transition B2B clients from chemical fertilisers to biological inputs. Pricing & Portfolio Management: Structure value-based pricing models that align with farming seasonal lifecycles and competing chemical products. Sales & Distribution Channel Management Dealer Network Expansion: Build and scale robust institutional distributor, dealer, and retail networks across rural and semi-urban agricultural hubs.

B2B Partnership Development: Secure high-value supply contracts with large-scale corporate farms, government agricultural boards, and institutional sugar cooperatives. Supply Chain Alignment: Collaborate with logistics and manufacturing teams to ensure product availability aligns with seasonal crop plantation windows.

Team Leadership & Brand Awareness Cross-functional Leadership: Lead and mentor the regional sales, agronomy support, and corporate marketing teams to meet performance KPIs. Farmer Education & Marketing: Drive demand through technical field-demonstration campaigns, extension services, and localised trust-building marketing initiatives.

Regulatory & Compliance Liaison: Work alongside legal teams to navigate biological registration, environmental quality standard certifications, and government subsidy policies.

Requirements

The role requires a rare blend of high-level agricultural domain knowledge and seasoned corporate commercial acumen.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Business, Microbiology, or a closely related science discipline. Advanced Degree: Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing, International Business, or Agribusiness Management is highly preferred. Experience Industry Tenure: Minimum of 20 to 25 years of executive-level experience in the agricultural input sector (fertilisers, crop protection, seeds, or biological).

Leadership Track Record: Proven history of scaling commercial pipelines, managing multi-regional sales structures, and delivering multi-million dollar revenue goals. Core Technical & Soft Skills Agri-Input Domain Knowledge: Clear understanding of bio fertiliser types (e.g., Rhizome, Azotobacter, PSB), soil microbiology, and sustainable farming challenges.

Financial Acumen: Advanced skills in commercial budgeting, credit control management for distributor networks, and forecasting macro-market margins. Regulatory Understanding: Familiarity with national fertiliser control orders, bio-safety compliance norms, and organic certification frameworks. Relationship Management: Exceptional negotiation skills to engage with corporate agribusiness stakeholders, ag-tech startups, and rural cooperative unions.
