Job description

Summary: The Behaviour Technician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients within a structured, client-centered environment. This position is essential to the success of individualized treatment plans, contributing directly to client progress in skill acquisition, behaviour reduction, and overall development.

The Behaviour Technician works closely under the supervision of Behaviour Analysts and Lead Behaviour Technicians, ensuring fidelity to treatment protocols, accurate data collection, and consistent communication with families and the treatment team. With a strong commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and continuous improvement, the Behaviour Technician supports the mission of TBH by fostering positive, evidence-based outcomes for clients and their families.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the vision and core values of TBH in all interactions with clients, families, and team members. Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Individualized Treatment Protocols. Follow prescribed IEP/protocol sheets to deliver scheduled programs with fidelity. Accurately collect, record, and summarize behavioural and skill acquisition data across sessions.

Submit daily and weekly data summaries via the designated data entry app or documentation sheet. Prepare and submit home logs and session notes at the end of each day for parents and supervisors as required. Monitor client progress and promptly report any lack of progress or concerns to the supervisor. Maintain an organized client file with up-to-date data sheets and essential materials.

Communicate parent and caregiver concerns to supervisors and senior staff in a timely manner. Support parent and caregiver training in line with individualized treatment and behaviour reduction protocols. Provide regular, clear updates to parents and caregivers regarding client progress as directed by the Behaviour Analyst.

Apply safe and appropriate handling procedures in all client interactions. Uphold client confidentiality in accordance with professional and organizational standards. Assist Lead Behaviour Technicians and Behaviour Analysts with skill acquisition and behaviour reduction assessments. Support the preparation of client materials as instructed by supervisors or ABA Interns.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment and workspace. Collaborate effectively with the treatment team, including clients, parents, caregivers, outside professionals, and team members. Check and respond to emails daily, within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). Foster a positive, welcoming, and productive work environment for staff, clients, and families.

Adhere to all safety protocols and report any safety concerns immediately to senior staff. Submit daily transportation expenses via the Transport Log-In sheet and submit monthly records by the last working day of the month. Complete and submit monthly contact sheets to the supervisor by the last working day of each month.

Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support team operations.
