Job description

Quatro Group has partnered with a leading Civil contractor in Queensland, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager on the Sunshine Coast. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational success of our business. Managing a dynamic portfolio, you will oversee the delivery of multiple concurrent civil projects across the region, ensuring program, cost, and quality targets are consistently achieved.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Strategic Oversight: Oversee delivery across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring program, cost, and quality targets are met. Performance Tracking: Monitor KPIs and proactively take corrective actions to achieve business targets. Continuous Improvement: Identify and prioritise improvement opportunities to ensure optimal performance across the board.

Culture & Safety: Drive safety, quality, productivity, and innovation, ensuring the workplace is 100% compliant with industry regulations. Resource Optimisation: Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and strategic allocation across various crews, plants, and equipment.

About You

You are a practical, solutions-focused operational leader who is equally comfortable diving into the fine details as you are navigating the big picture. You thrive in fast-paced, changing environments and possess the confidence to make decisive calls when it matters most. To be successful in this role, you will bring: Proven Experience: Background as an Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, or a similar leadership role within a Tier 3 Civil Contractor.

Sector Expertise: A strong contractor-side background in civil, water infrastructure, or major concrete construction. Resource Management: Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, diverse crews, and shared resources effectively. Operational Knowledge: A rock-solid understanding of project delivery, scheduling, site operations, and modern database software.

Core Traits: A positive attitude, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Requirements

A relevant Management Diploma or Degree. 5+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record of coaching and managing diverse teams. Direct experience working within Tier 3 civil contracting environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a deep understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory compliance.

Ability to travel and work in regional Queensland at times to support project delivery.
