We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse – Critical Care for a hospital in Limerick, Ireland. Position: Staff Nurse – Critical Care Location: Limerick, Ireland Type: Permanent (Full-time / Part-time positions also considered) Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiology procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and high-quality clinical outcomes.
Promote a patient-centred approach by collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Provide expert nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with evidence-based clinical standards. Monitor patients post-procedure, assess vital signs, recognise clinical deterioration, and escalate concerns promptly.
Prepare patients for cardiology procedures by providing clear information, obtaining informed cooperation, and addressing patient concerns. Adhere to best practices in infection prevention and control to maintain a safe clinical environment. Deliver nursing care in compliance with organisational policies, professional standards, and clinical guidelines.
Safely operate and maintain competency in the use of specialised cardiology and clinical equipment. Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, ensuring appropriate interventions and escalation. Apply radiation safety principles and practices where required to protect patients, staff, and visitors Requirements Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
A Coronary Care or Intensive Care qualification is desirable but not essential. Minimum of 2 years post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting is essential. Previous experience in ICU, CCU, or HDU settings is desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong clinical competencies with evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
A flexible approach to work patterns, including shift work if required.
