Job description
Position: Dairy Cattle Farm Worker Reports to: your immediate farm manager/director Tasks Include:
- Patrolling, inspecting, and reporting on the condition of livestock
- Providing livestock with feed and water
- Assisting with calf rearing
- Assisting with maintaining the health and welfare of livestock
- Mustering and droving livestock to milking and shearing sheds and between paddocks to ensure sufficient feed is available
- Washing and cleaning udders, attaching milking machines to udders, and milking cows
- Cleaning the shed
- General farm maintenance, such as fencing and repairing the water line, etc NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may need to perform other related duties as negotiated with the employer. On offer:
- Days/Time of Work: Monday to Sunday (5 am start during milking and 3 am start during calving), 5 to 6 days a week)
- Location – West Coast Region, South Island, New Zealand
- Pay rate - 55k per annum
- On-farm accommodation Skill Required:
- No experience is required as full training is provided
- Must be physically fit
