Summary: The Protection Assistant plays a vital role in safeguarding the rights and well-being of affected populations within EMF’s programming areas. This position supports the Protection team in identifying, documenting, and referring protection concerns through established protocols, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
By working closely with community structures, case workers, and local service providers, the Protection Assistant helps uphold core protection principles across all interventions. The role involves active participation in field monitoring, data collection, community engagement, and reporting, contributing to a more responsive, accountable, and inclusive protection response.
The position is essential in strengthening community resilience and ensuring that vulnerable individuals can access protection services safely and with dignity.
Responsibilities
Support the identification and timely referral of protection cases through established referral pathways. Assist in delivering community awareness sessions on protection risks, rights, and available services. Accompany protection officers on field visits and support data collection using standardized protection tools.
Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential case files and referral trackers in compliance with data protection policies. Support the mapping of protection actors and services across operational areas to enhance coordination. Assist in compiling and submitting weekly and monthly protection monitoring reports. Engage with communities to build trust and encourage the reporting of protection concerns.
