Objective of the role (Why) The primary objective of the Ayvens Internal Audit Function (Ayvens IAF) is to provide assurance by conducting various engagements, including governance, risk, financial, operational, IT and leasing (based on the domain expertise).
The aim is to provide insights to the Managing Board, the group Audit Committee, Regulators, External Auditor and other relevant stakeholders regarding the Governance, Risk management framework and control environment. Specifically, the Ayvens IAF proactively identifies control weaknesses across the organisation and drives improvements through audit reports.
This includes follow-up on the timely resolution of previously identified audit findings. Under the supervision of the Deputy Head of Audit for Ayvens and together with the other Audit Director, the Audit Director for the ‘Digital, Projects & Data Analytics’ domain is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the Ayvens audit team in Amsterdam.
The Director is part of the Ayvens Internal Audit Management Team (consisting of the Ayvens IGAD Business Correspondent, the Deputy, Supervisors (based in Paris/Bucharest) and the Audit Directors (based in Amsterdam). Areas of responsibilities (What) The key responsibilities of the Director ‘Digital, Projects & Data Analytics’ include: Team Management: Together with the rest of the Audit Management team, co-manage effectively the multi-location Ayvens IAF, while ensuring compliance with the International Practices Framework of the Institute of Internal Auditors, SG IGAD standards and other regulatory requirements.
In addition, as direct hierarchical Manager for the auditors working in his Audit Domain, ensure under the responsibility of the Deputy the management of the day-to-day operation of the team in Amsterdam. Audit mission supervision: Reviews, coaches challenges and validate the Head of Mission (HoM) and audit team’s approach and Conclusion (mainly during tollgates); and provides support/advises, expertise and mentoring to the HoM and audit team throughout the audit mission when required.
She/he validates for the issues assigned the appropriate issue closure. Annual Risk Assessment and continuous monitoring: Under the responsibility of the Head of Audit and the Deputy, she/he contribute to the preparation of the annual Risk Assessment and the continuous business monitoring with senior management level for designated areas, with a focus on the area of focus.
Stakeholder management: The Director is responsible for stakeholder management across the domain under his/her responsibility, which includes Executive Committee members, Managing Board members and external stakeholders. Most notably, Ayvens’ CIO. Stakeholder management includes obtaining information for input in the audit scope and planning, as well as ensuring senior management is aware of our audit findings, is acting upon these and if needed escalates to the required level of management.
Other overarching transversal responsibilities : The Director:
- Sponsors / lead transversal projects for the benefit of the entire team;
- Is a subject matter expert for one or more audit areas and is the point of contact towards Group-wide stakeholders;
- Provides assistance, advice and practical training to less experienced colleagues on both the audit process/ methodology and Ayvens businesses and products; and
- Be active member of the SG group IT auditor community such that the Ayvens Audit coverage takes SG Group’s IT strategy and key projects into account. Innovation: The Director in charge of the Digital domains is in charge of the execution of the Data Analytics roadmap. Competencies (How) Required competencies are: Knowledgeable: Robust understanding of company-wide leasing & financial institution related processes. Analytical and advisory : the ability to identify control gaps in the different governance, financial, operational and IT processes and translates these control gaps into tangible recommendations for improvement. Connectivity and Communication : the ability to quickly establish a positive working relationship with all levels in the Ayvens organisation including executive management, adapts communication style with relational intelligence to suit the situation. Ability to effectively communicate findings and risk exposures to Senior Management and other relevant stakeholders. Team management : the ability to manage a local team and make sure communication is constructive and clear. Quality: the ability to effectively monitor and supervise the quality of the tasks and the audits are performed in accordance with IGAD and IIA Standards and to provide feedback in a constructive and employee engaging manner. Ethics and Conduct : the capacity to always adhere to internal policies and compliance with expected high standards of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and Independence as defined by IGAD and the IIA. Job requirements (Who) Personal characteristics Professional critical mind-set. Excellent analytical capabilities. Result oriented and able to work with deadlines. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically, analyse complex issues and provide effective solutions. Curious and inquisitive. Aware of and able to deal with cultural differences. Willing to travel (up to 20%) Education / knowledge University degree (at least Master’s) and studying for post-master financial or IT or Operational auditing, combined with at least 18 years of relevant, hands-on work experience as a (external or internal) auditor. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CPA) or IIA qualification. Skills Able to perform audit work with autonomy, organisation and responsiveness to conduct assignments efficiently. Strong understanding of the audit process and methodology – rigorous and reliable in the audit approach. Strong analytic and synthesis skills. Good project management skills and efficient management of time. Able to manage priorities, deadlines, and budget constraints. Compliant with confidentiality requirements. Good writing and presentation skills. Fluency in English is essential. Experience Significant experience in Internal of External Audit. Knowledge of Car Leasing business. Management experience. IT Applications Good knowledge of standard IT tools such as MS Office suite. Experience using data analytics tools and techniques. Why Ayvens?
