Look for signs of oral cancer by palpating the lymph nodes under the patient's chin for signs of pain or swelling. Record and review the patient's medical history. Sign up for dental caries to be diagnosed and treated by a dentist. Maintenance of dental equipment and X-ray machines. Touch and visually inspect the gums for signs of disease, sores, and other oral health problems. Exposure and development of X-ray films. Grinding and sterilizing dental instruments. Promote preventive oral care to improve oral health care for patients.

Application of fluoride and other caries-preventing agents. Work with dentists and dental assistants. Maintain patient oral hygiene program.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited sanitation program. State sanitation license. Current CPR certificate. Hepatitis B vaccine update. Possibility of using local anesthetics. Able to use X-ray machine. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Feel free to use your computer for a variety of tasks. Have a good knowledge of oral hygiene and oral health.
