ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The electromechanical technician installs, maintains and repairs the electromechanical systems and equipment, including pumps, motors, compressors, gearboxes and control panels

  • Install, maintain, repair of the electromechanical equipment of the fleet.
  • Install, maintain and repair of the electromechanical systems of the facility and workshop
  • Electrical aspect of refrigeration
  • Bride electronics – fault finding/basic repairs
  • Lighting systems, navigation lights, batteries, and power supply on board
  • Maintain the emergency systems on board
  • Knowledge of alignment, bearing replacement, lubrication SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 15 years of practical experience as (marine) electromechanical
  • Diploma electro-mechanical engineering
  • IT skills: basic use of MS Excel, MS Word
  • English-speaking
  • Ability to perform physical tasks
  • Past work experience in Africa is a bonus
  • Good planner, respecting deadlines and good communicator
  • Monitoring the use of electromechanical spares and consumables
  • Experience with marine equipment, refrigeration systems, alternators (incl. AVR setting)
  • Training of junior technicians
  • Assisting the crew for troubleshooting, providing guidance
  • To keep operational records and do basic analysis
  • Be up to date on the vessel situation, maintenance schedules both short term and long term Electro-mechanical Technicians -Marine Equipment: US$ 18,000-2,200 Diploma electro-mech. Engg. 15 years of practical experience as (marine) electromechanical . IT skills: basic use of MS Excel, MS Word .Ability to perform physical tasks. Experience with marine equipment, refrigeration systems, alternators (incl. AVR setting) . English-speaking Mechanics/Technicians -Marine : US$ 1,500-1,800 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 10 years of experience as a marine technician. Overhaul, test and commission engines independently.
