ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The electromechanical technician installs, maintains and repairs the electromechanical systems and equipment, including pumps, motors, compressors, gearboxes and control panels
- Install, maintain, repair of the electromechanical equipment of the fleet.
- Install, maintain and repair of the electromechanical systems of the facility and workshop
- Electrical aspect of refrigeration
- Bride electronics – fault finding/basic repairs
- Lighting systems, navigation lights, batteries, and power supply on board
- Maintain the emergency systems on board
- Knowledge of alignment, bearing replacement, lubrication SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 15 years of practical experience as (marine) electromechanical
- Diploma electro-mechanical engineering
- IT skills: basic use of MS Excel, MS Word
- English-speaking
- Ability to perform physical tasks
- Past work experience in Africa is a bonus
- Good planner, respecting deadlines and good communicator
- Monitoring the use of electromechanical spares and consumables
- Experience with marine equipment, refrigeration systems, alternators (incl. AVR setting)
- Training of junior technicians
- Assisting the crew for troubleshooting, providing guidance
- To keep operational records and do basic analysis
- Be up to date on the vessel situation, maintenance schedules both short term and long term Electro-mechanical Technicians -Marine Equipment: US$ 18,000-2,200 Diploma electro-mech. Engg. 15 years of practical experience as (marine) electromechanical . IT skills: basic use of MS Excel, MS Word .Ability to perform physical tasks. English-speaking Mechanics/Technicians -Marine : US$ 1,500-1,800 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 10 years of experience as a marine technician. Overhaul, test and commission engines independently.
