Job description

A client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to support the sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain activities of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating pricing, processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for ongoing projects and operations.

The ideal candidate must possess strong procurement knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and experience working within the Oil & Gas, Engineering, Construction, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

Source and procure materials, equipment, tools, and services in line with company requirements. Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, proposals, and bids. Conduct supplier assessments and maintain relationships with approved vendors and OEMs. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements to achieve cost savings.

Prepare purchase orders, procurement documentation, and contract records. Monitor procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Coordinate with engineering, operations, logistics, and project teams to understand procurement requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.

Track shipments and liaise with logistics providers to ensure successful delivery. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Support inventory monitoring and replenishment activities. Conduct market research to identify alternative suppliers and sourcing opportunities.

Assist in supplier performance evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare procurement reports and management updates as required.

Requirements

Requirements Educational Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant procurement experience. Experience within the Oil & Gas, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Energy, or Industrial Services sectors is preferred.

Experience in sourcing industrial equipment, engineering materials, and project-related supplies will be an added advantage. Professional Certifications (Preferred) Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD).

Any relevant procurement or supply chain certification.

Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience using ERP or procurement management systems is an advantage.
