Job description

❖ Perform ultrasonic testing (UT) inspections on composite and metallic aerospace components using approved procedures and work instructions. ❖ Inspect advanced composite laminates, honeycomb sandwich structures, bonded assemblies, and metallic components for manufacturing and in-service defects. ❖ Detect, evaluate, and characterize discontinuities such as de-laminations, dis-bonds, porosity, voids, inclusions, core crush, impact damage, cracks, laminations, and lack of bond.

❖ Assess bond integrity during assembly-level inspections using conventional UT, PAUT (pulse-echo, through-transmission, and Pitch catch method) ❖ Set up, calibrate, and verify UT equipment using approved composite reference standards with artificial defects. ❖ Interpret A-scan, B-scan, and C-scan data to evaluate subsurface anomalies in complex laminate and sandwich-core structures.

❖ Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and customer requirements. ❖ Verify part configuration, material type, revision status, and inspection requirements before testing. ❖ Evaluate inspection results against acceptance criteria and disposition parts in accordance with applicable procedures.

❖ Prepare inspection reports, Standard Operating Procedure, defect maps, scan records, and non-conformance documentation. ❖ Maintain calibration records and ensure all inspection equipment remains within calibration. ❖ Support root cause investigations, quality improvement activities, and corrective actions. ❖ Ensure compliance with aerospace quality systems, safety procedures, and applicable standards.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering. ❖ UT Level II certification in accordance with NAS 410, ASNT, or equivalent certification. ❖ Minimum 7 -11 years of experience in ultrasonic inspection of aerospace composite and metallic structures. ❖ Strong knowledge of aerospace composite manufacturing processes and metallic inspection techniques.
