Ready to Power a Smarter World with us? The Value Stream Manager is responsible for leading daily operations and continuous improvement activities within an assigned value stream.
This role drives continuous product flow, utilizes pull systems where flow is not currently possible, and works to level the workload. The Value Stream Manager establishes a culture of continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring standardized work and processes are followed, countermeasures are implemented, and safety improvements are prioritized.
This position creates a culture that stops to fix problems and gets quality right the first time while maintaining a positive, can-do team environment. The Value Stream Manager also selects, coaches, and develops team members, manages organizational talent, and aligns individual and team objectives with the company’s strategy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience 5 years of progressive operations or lean management experience ESSENTIAL DUTIES Value Stream Leadership and Daily Operations Lead the Value Stream in daily operations and continuous improvement activities. Emphasize the creation of continuous product flow, utilize pull systems where flow is not currently possible, and work to level the workload.
Create the foundation for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring standardized work and processes are followed, countermeasures are implemented, and the area drives safety improvements. Create a culture that stops to fix problems to get quality right the first time. Instill and maintain a positive, can-do team atmosphere within the Value Stream.
Talent and Performance Management Design and direct the work of the functional area. Select, coach, and develop the team. Establish objectives that align with company strategy and inspire and motivate the team. Manage organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and employee development. Design and direct processes through which team and individual performance are recognized.
Ensure feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved. Performance Management and Operational Excellence Utilize the Plan-Do-Check-Act process in conjunction with the Managing for Daily Improvement process to deliver metric results in people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Develop a visual value stream that ensures problems do not remain hidden.
Perform Leader Standard Work to deliver consistent execution of processes and procedures. Training and Workforce Development Ensure leaders provide effective training and cross-training for employees. Develop appropriate backup coverage from other areas to support the continuous and smooth operation of the Value Stream.
Continuous Improvement Planning Develop and execute short- and long-range continuous improvement plans. Deliver measurable improvements in people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. New Product Introduction and Strategic Initiatives Lead and coordinate the successful launch of New Product Introductions within Operations.
Participate in the development of standards and programs. Participate in the development and implementation of facility strategic plans and initiatives. Facilitate the sharing of information, best practices, and external benchmarks. Experiment and push boundaries by designing and implementing facility solutions that challenge the norm.
Perform other duties as assigned. Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in Belvidere, Illinois, is $110,000 to $130,000 USD . Final compensation will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
