What you'll do

Trailer Maintenance & Repair Perform preventative maintenance (PM) services on trailers, including inspections, adjustments, repairs, and routine servicing Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and ABS system issues Repair, replace, and adjust trailer components, including brakes, air systems, suspensions, lighting systems, and related equipment Inspect trailers to identify maintenance needs and ensure safe operation Respond to breakdowns and urgent repair requests to support fleet operations DOT Compliance & Safety Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers meet federal, state, and company safety requirements Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards Identify and report safety concerns, equipment issues, and operational risks Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records Complete work orders and service documentation accurately and on time Communicate repair status, equipment concerns, and maintenance needs to management Support fleet maintenance planning and scheduling efforts Shop Operations & Housekeeping Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including service bays, tools, equipment, and staging areas Assist with shop organization, waste disposal, and general housekeeping activities Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored Team Collaboration Work closely with drivers, operations personnel, and management to minimize downtime and support fleet readiness Assist with troubleshooting and technical support as needed Support training and knowledge-sharing efforts within the maintenance team Perform additional duties as assigned What you'll bring: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to diagnose and repair trailer systems and components Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment Experience performing trailer maintenance and repair Knowledge of DOT inspection requirements and transportation regulations Experience with braking systems, air systems, suspensions, lighting systems, and ABS diagnostics Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Ability to provide and maintain basic hand tools; specialty diagnostic tools preferred Work is performed in shop, yard, and fleet maintenance environments Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, dust, grease, and varying weather conditions Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in physically demanding conditions Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy components and materials Ability to work safely around vehicles, trailers, and maintenance equipment May require overtime, emergency repairs, and on-call support based on business needs What you'll earn: Health Care Benefits Paid Time Off Benefits for union‑represented roles are determined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement and may differ from standard company benefits.
