The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Retail Specialty performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflow, inventory, billing and other complex pharmacy processes. Additionally, they have ownership of a specialty area.

Essential Job Function Oversees and directs pharmacy workflow including receiving and transcribing orders; answering phones; selling prescriptions; nonsterile compounding; and managing and maintaining automation. Maintains pharmacy inventory. Teaches other pharmacy technicians specialized job skills in order to support workplace learning.

Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees. Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Required: 7 years Licensure/Certification/Listing Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
