Highway Maintenance Worker II - Medium Equipment Operator (61034171)

Operates a tandem dump truck hauling asphalt for roadway repairs, shoulder material to repair shoulders, and sand clay to backfill pipes. Operates a belt loader to load material from the roadway as needed for maintenance. Perform manual labor to include mixing cement for pipe installation and repairs, grading ditches by hand, and cleaning pipe ends etc.

Operates a backhoe in cleaning ditches and placing pipe. Operates a brine sprayer and spreader in inclement weather operations. Operates a tractor with broom. Operates a pipe washer as needed in cleaning pipes. Assists with emergency and inclement weather operations, may include extended hours and/or 12- hour shifts.
