Position Summary

The Mental Health Consultant is responsible for the provision and coordination of mental health services for an assigned caseload. The consultant will work with both parents and staff to enhance their awareness and understanding of mental wellness and its impact on children and families. This position aims to improve the ability of staff, families, programs, and systems to prevent, identify, treat and reduce the impact of mental health problems among children and their families.

Under Head Start Program Performance Standards (1302.91(e)(8)(ii) Mental Health Consultants must be licensed, or work under the supervision, of a licensed mental health professional. Job Type: Full Time, Year-Round (12-months),. Hourly, Non-Exempt Expected Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00a-4:30p, 40 hours per week Rate of Pay: Masters or Higher: $28.

85/hr.

Education

Master of Social Work, with a current license in the State of Michigan with a minimum two years’ experience working with school-age population and families. Other Selection Criteria: All candidates must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transportation, complete a physical examination, comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP).
