Assembly, Test, & Launch Operations (ATLO) Engineer Spacecraft Integration & Satellite Manufacturing On-site in El Segundo, CA $119,850 - $215,000/Yearly We are hiring an Assembly, Test & Launch Operations (ATLO) Engineer to support spacecraft integration, satellite assembly, environmental testing, and launch operations in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for engineers with experience in spacecraft integration, systems engineering, satellite manufacturing, environmental testing (EMI/EMC, TVAC, Dynamics), production operations, LabVIEW, Python, Linux, and aerospace manufacturing , with the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
Lead satellite assembly, integration, test, environmental qualification, and launch campaign activities from vehicle build through launch. Develop, plan, and execute Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) schedules and production workflows. Review engineering drawings, schematics, and design documentation to identify manufacturability improvements and reduce production risk.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, facilities, security, and program teams to resolve technical challenges and improve production efficiency. Provide technical leadership during cleanroom integration, troubleshooting, non-conformance resolution, corrective actions, and go/no-go decisions. Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and validate spacecraft hardware, software, and flight development systems.
Author, review, approve, and serve as signature authority for assembly procedures, test procedures, process plans, and production documentation. Lead environmental qualification testing, including: Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) Dynamics/Vibration Testing Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility (EMI/EMC) Support launch vehicle integration and launch site operations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase manufacturing throughput, reduce build hours, improve quality, and eliminate process waste. Analyze production metrics using statistical methods and business intelligence tools to improve manufacturing performance. Support development of scalable manufacturing processes for future satellite constellation production.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in aerospace, automotive, commercial manufacturing, spacecraft integration, assembly sequencing, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical disciplines.
Experience supporting complex hardware integration, manufacturing operations, or systems engineering activities. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation. Experience developing or executing assembly, integration, and test procedures. Ability to work onsite in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
Willingness to support rotating shifts as required Pre ferred Qualifications: 7+ years of experience supporting spacecraft or satellite systems. Experience with medium-rate production of complex aerospace hardware (10–100 units annually). Expertise in one or more of the following: Spacecraft Integration Mechanical Integration Electrical Test Systems Engineering Industrial Operations Program Leadership Knowledge of satellite manufacturing engineering principles, aerospace production methods, and systems integration.
Experience developing work instructions and manufacturing procedures for aerospace hardware. Experience using hardware integration and test equipment including: NI LabVIEW Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems Electrical Power Supplies Signal Analyzers Digital Multimeters Experience with: Python C++ Linux Version Control Systems Computer Networking Experience using engineering and manufacturing software including: ERP/MRP Systems Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Teamcenter / PLM Jira Microsoft Project Configuration Management Tools Experience with CAD software and engineering drawings.
Experience using Power BI, Tableau, statistical analysis, and manufacturing performance metrics. Experience supporting union-represented manufacturing environments. Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
