Accounts Assistant Manager

Our client, a medium-sized professional services firm based in Malta, is currently looking for a fully qualified accountant to join their Senior Management team and co-manage their Accounts Department. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of clients alongside the other managers and lead a team of 4 to 5 staff within the accounting team.

This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €45K, plus annual bonus. Please note that only candidates already based in Malta will be considered. Role & Responsibilities Co-manage a team of 4 to 5 people within the Accounts Department Manage a portfolio of clients alongside the other managers Supervise staff on a daily basis, review their work, and plan work to ensure deadlines are met Ensure compliance with accounting policies Provide VAT advice to clients when required Liaise with auditors and other departments within the firm Interact with the firm's directors, staff, and clients Education, Skills & Experience A graduate from the University of Malta (Honours or Masters in Accountancy), or a holder of an ACCA degree Holder of a warrant to practise Accountancy in Malta A recognised qualification in Maltese Value Added Tax from an established professional institution in Malta Minimum 4 years' experience working in a similar firm Solid understanding of GAPSME and IFRS, and a thorough knowledge of Maltese VAT legislation Excellent time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills Ability to work without supervision, motivate staff, and handle confidential information Ability to perform under pressure with strong attention to detail Good command of written and spoken English; Italian is an asset About the Role Salary of up to €45K plus annual bonus Hybrid working model with flexible working arrangements Reduced working hours during the summer period Career progression opportunities Option to work from the firm's Gozo office for Gozo-based employees Remote working on planned and agreed dates Work with a team of professional accountants, auditors, tax practitioners, VAT specialists, and lawyers Please, apply with your detailed CV in English *Job.
