Job Title: Assistant Manager (FP&A and MIS) Location: Mumbai Department: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Reporting To: FP&A Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview: We are looking for a Chartered Accountant to join our FP&A team as a Finance Executive/ Assistant Manager , with a focus on management reporting, content performance analysis, and business planning .
The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced media environment , providing financial insights across content, ad sales, affiliate revenues, and digital business verticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Content ROI Assist in preparing annual operating plans (AOP), long-range forecasts, and periodic reforecasts for TV, digital, and other business verticals. Support planning for content investments and track actual vs. budgeted costs for originals, acquisitions, and productions. Analyze ROI for content spend by channel, platform, and genre. Profit and Loss account , Cashflows and Balance sheet estimates
- Management Reporting (MIS) Prepare and present monthly MIS dashboards including revenue, costs, GRPs/MAUs, CPRP, CPM, Watch time, VVs, EBITDA margins, and KPIs. Track ad sales and affiliate revenues, including pricing trends and yield metrics. Analyze and explain variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Business Performance Analytics Support business heads with actionable insights into channel profitability, content performance, and viewer engagement metrics. Analyze business models for new shows, events, or platform launches. Assist in post-campaign evaluations and brand cost tracking.
- Stakeholder Collaboration Liaise with content, ad sales, distribution, digital, and marketing teams to gather data inputs and challenge assumptions where needed. Coordinate with accounting teams to ensure alignment of actuals with reported numbers.
- Data Management & Automation Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across systems and reports. Drive automation of MIS through Excel macros, Power BI, or dashboarding tools.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) –2-4 years of post-qualification experience. Articleship experience in FP&A, media audits, or business advisory is a plus. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong Excel skills and exposure to AI, PowerPoint for executive presentations. Analytical mindset with ability to interpret business and content metrics.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Familiarity with SAP or business intelligence tools like AI, Power BI/Tableau is an added advantage. Growth Opportunities: This role provides a strong foundation in business finance within the media industry .
