Job Title: Quality Control Manager Start Date: Immediately Job Type: Full-time Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000/Year DOE Position Overview: The Quality Control Inspector executes J.R. & Co.'s construction quality control program on federal and commercial roofing and building envelope projects. This role verifies that installed work matches approved plans, specifications, and manufacturer requirements, maintains the daily quality documentation required on government contracts, and serves as the company's field quality contact for government QA representatives.

Essential Functions
Execute the three-phase control process (preparatory, initial, follow-up) for each Definable Feature of Work on assigned projects Perform daily quality inspections of roofing and building envelope installations and complete Daily Quality Control Reports Verify installed work against contract drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and manufacturer details, including substrate preparation, fastening patterns, seam welds and probe testing, flashing, terminations, penetrations, and drainage Track submittals, RFIs, material certifications, and required testing to confirm completion and proper documentation Serve as the field quality point of contact for government QA representatives and manufacturer technical representatives Maintain deficiency logs and punch lists with supporting photo documentation, and track corrective work through final acceptance Communicate quality issues directly to superintendents, foremen, and project managers for correction before work is covered, and provide field coaching on correct detailing and installation practices Travel to assigned project sites, including extended stays, and support compliance with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements alongside site safety personnel Required Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, Modified Bitumen, built-up, and metal Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals Strong written documentation skills and comfort completing daily reports on a phone or tablet Ability to hold a firm line on quality while maintaining working relationships with field crews Ability to work independently and manage a multi-site schedule with minimal supervision Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations and federal facilities Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Education and Experience Current USACE/NAVFAC CQM-C (Construction Quality Management for Contractors) certification required 3–5 years of commercial roofing, building envelope, or construction quality control experience preferred OSHA 30 certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days Preferred: experience with RMS/QCS or other federal quality reporting systems Preferred: IIBEC RRO or RRC credential Work Environment / Physical Requirements Work is performed primarily outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions Must be able to climb ladders and walk sloped, uneven, and elevated roof surfaces Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Extensive travel required, including extended stays at project sites Pre-employment drug screen and background check required; subject to random drug testing Benefits & Compensation Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Phone Stipend Per diem and travel expenses covered Health, dental, vision, and life insurance Paid time off and paid parental leave 401(k) with company match Fringe benefit sub-plan where applicable Weekly pay Certification renewal and training support J.
