SUMMARY: Position: Secretary (Central Office) Description: Provides administrative/clerical support for Central Office in the areas of answering phones, correspondence, public relations, information dissemination, and in support of the Communications & Outreach Department Reports to: Communications & Outreach Director Department: Communications & Outreach Job type: Full time Classification: Non‐Exempt Calendar Type: 11‐month (Calendar 2. Base Pay: $20.42 per hour Degree Stipend: Associate Degree or 60+ College Credit Hours: +$1/hour Bachelor’s Degree: +$2/hour Master’s Degree: +$3/hour Experience Stipend: +$0.50/hour for each year of full-time work experience at a K–12 school other than Frontier Schools (up to 3 years maximum) Benefits: Eligible for health insurance and retirement benefits QUALIFICATIONS: ● High School Diploma or G.E.D. ● Bilingual Spanish – reading and writing ● Minimum of 2 years of experience as a secretary is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Maintains confidentiality regarding staff and school-related issues. Communicates with other building administrators and staff per the Communications & Outreach Director's directive. Coordinates office operations. Resolves most questions and problems and refers the most complex issues to higher levels. ● Translates school-related documents as needed.
● Provides assistance to Central Office staff. ● Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive, and smoothly run office. ● Uses effective, positive interpersonal communication skills. ● Performs other tasks as assigned. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ● Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district. ● Ability to organize and assist the Communications & Outreach Department with district-wide and campus events. ● Ability to use a computer, including software and databases used by the district, as well as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
● Ability to analyze data. ● Ability to use effective interview techniques, public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ● Light work: may require occasional light lifting. ● Night and weekend activities may occasionally be required. ● Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
● Moderate travel is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
