Citizen Care Inc. DEPARTMENT : Community and Employment Support Services POSITION : Direct Support Professional

  • Job Coach STATUS : Full-Time; 40 hours / week SCHEDULE / HOURS : 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM LOCATION : Robinson Township Citizen Care Inc., a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., provides residential, day program, habilitation, supported employment opportunities and behavioral support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are a non-profit organization, accredited by the Council on Quality & Leadership. Citizen Care has locations throughout the West Hills and South Hills of Allegheny County.

Responsibilities

Responsible to the Employment Services Manager/Competitive Integrated Employment Manager for providing supports and services to people with intellectual disabilities across a variety of community-based work settings.

  • Provide the crew with the support, instruction and assistance necessary to develop skills and fulfill the contract agreement (1 on 1, Hotel setting)
  • Fulfillment of small group and competitive employment/contractual agreements with community businesses and companies; as well as job finding and development opportunities through Waiver/OVR service
  • Be a positive role model to others by demonstrating professionalism when interacting with the members of the Citizen Care Workforce and company employees
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner between the crew members and the Employment Services Manager/Competitive Integrated Employment Manager
  • Problem solve by evaluating situations as they develop and propose a Plan of Action to resolve the issue Treating people with dignity and respect
  • Encouraging personal discovery, development, and enhancing self-esteem
  • Promoting independence in all aspects of a person’s life
  • Encouraging each person to understand, exercise, and protect their rights and the rights of others
  • Helping each person to identify, realize and celebrate their hopes and dreams
  • Providing each person choices whenever possible
  • Encouraging independence while at the same time providing supports as needed

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. High school diploma or GED
  3. A valid Pennsylvania, Ohio or West Virginia driver’s license
  4. Two (2) years experience in the field of Human Services
  5. One (1) year experience with job training preferred
  6. Must be dependable and be able to work a flexible schedule
  7. Must be able to work independently Minimum Compensation USD $19.00/Yr. Maximum Compensation USD $21.00/Yr.
