Essential Functions
Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Demonstrate knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures. Utilizes AIDET and Patient Experience measures during patient interactions Attend staff meetings and in-services Complete competency requirements on an annual basis Follows all infection control and prevention policies Demonstrate ability to maintain a safe environment and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Ability to obtain blood or other specimens using varied technique on all age groups Proficient in the use of the laboratory information system and hospital information system (where applicable) Maintain supplies in a neat and orderly manner Maintain a professional appearance and attitude Make appropriate decisions independently Prioritize workload Inform management of problems Maintain confidentiality of patient data Cross training in ATC, MLW, Phlebotomy/Accessioning Performs EKGs in Presurgical testing location. 18. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Required or GED 1-3 years Previous phlebotomy experience preferred Preferred 4-6 years Previous experience in a healthcare environment Required Performs EKGs Preferred Basic Computer Skills (Low proficiency) Performs EKGs (Low proficiency) Certified Phlebotomy Technician

- Certified Phlebotomy Technician
- National Healthcareer Association Preferred or NCCT-Certified Phlebotomy Technician
