Job description

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited (“ICBC (Asia)”) is the flagship of overseas business of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (“ICBC”) – currently the largest commercial bank in China, and it is one of the domestic systemically important banks (D-SIBs) in Hong Kong. Currently, ICBC (Asia) has 52 retail outlets (including 27 “Elite Club” Wealth Management Centres) in Hong Kong.

It is engaged in commercial banking, investment banking and other financial services, including those of securities, insurance and funds, with a focus on commercial and retail banking as well as global market business. Chinese Mercantile Bank and ICBC Asset Management (Global) Company Limited, two wholly-owned subsidiaries of ICBC (Asia), specialize in Renminbi services in mainland China and ICBC’s global asset management business respectively.

Key Responsibilities

Steer the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of the bank’s wealth management business (including Investment, Insurance, and other Financial Planning products). Define and execute the end-to-end business strategy for the Wealth Management segment to achieve the bank’s financial targets, market share growth, and AUM (Assets Under Management) objectives.

Oversee the development, sourcing, and positioning of wealth management products (Mutual Funds, Bonds, Structured Products, Insurance, etc.) Drive digital transformation to enhance the online wealth platform and customer journey. Lead, motivate, and upscale the sales force (including Relationship Managers and Investment Consultants).

Ensure robust portfolio management and advisory excellence. Maintain a stringent risk management framework. Ensure all wealth management activities, sales processes, and product disclosures strictly comply with the HKMA, SFC, and other regulatory requirements. Formulate targeted value propositions for High-Net-Worth (HNW), affluent, and mass affluent customer segments to drive acquisition and retention.

Requirements

& Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or above in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Minimum of 15–20 years of solid experience in retail banking, wealth management, or private banking, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial capacity. Meeting HKMA and SFC criteria for Executive Officer (EO) / Responsible Officer (RO) status.

Solid track record to fulfill the fitness and properness requirements for a Section 72B Manager registration. Proven success in managing a sizable P&L, driving AUM growth, and leading large, high-performing teams. Deep understanding of the Hong Kong regulatory landscape (HKMA & SFC guidelines are a must). Professional designations such as CFP, CFA, or FRM are highly advantageous.
