Apartment Maintenance Tech

The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) provides quality affordable housing to low-income families and individuals through the effective and efficient administration of housing assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs in residential units and common areas. Perform general maintenance, including carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, appliance, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs. Complete preventative maintenance and inspections to identify and address issues proactively. Prepare vacant units for occupancy.

Maintain grounds, landscaping, and common areas, including seasonal cleanup. Ensure compliance with safety standards and report/correct hazards. Maintain work orders, maintenance records, and inventory of tools and supplies. Provide professional customer service and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of experience in apartment, residential, or commercial maintenance Technical Skills Practical experience in carpentry, painting, and general building repairs Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems preferred Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively Other Requirements Valid Driver’s License required Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication and customer service skills All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
