Project Manager – Commercial Construction Alexandria, LA or Baton Rouge, LA Ratcliff is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager who knows how to take ownership of a project, lead a team, and keep all the moving pieces headed in the same direction. What You'll Do
As a Project Manager, you'll have responsibility for your projects from preconstruction and planning through closeout. You'll work closely with Superintendents, project teams, owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to make sure projects are delivered safely, successfully, and in line with Ratcliff's standards.
You'll be expected to: Take ownership of overall project performance, including budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, contracts, scopes, commitments, and performance Partner closely with the Superintendent to keep field and office operations aligned Lead project meetings and maintain clear, consistent communication with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal teams Identify potential issues early and take action before they become larger problems Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, documentation, and project closeout Monitor project financials and make informed decisions that protect both the project and the company Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners Hold yourself and others accountable while contributing to a team-focused environment Represent Ratcliff professionally and uphold our standards throughout every phase of the project What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is experienced, accountable, and comfortable taking the lead.
The right person can make decisions, have difficult conversations when necessary, and keep a project moving without needing someone else to constantly tell them what comes next. You may be a great fit if you: Have proven experience managing commercial construction projects Understand the financial side of construction and can confidently manage budgets, forecasts, costs, and change Are organized and detail-oriented while still keeping sight of overall project objectives Communicate clearly and confidently with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and leadership Take initiative and follow through on commitments Approach problems with a solutions-focused mindset Are comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of the outcome Value teamwork and know how to build productive working relationships Hold yourself to a high standard for quality and professionalism Experience & Qualifications 3+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience preferred Experience managing projects for a commercial general contractor strongly preferred Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, scheduling, cost management, and project documentation Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with construction project management technology and Microsoft Office Experience with CMiC or similar construction management software is a plus This position will report to either our Alexandria or Baton Rouge office depending on location of applicant.
