Job description
THE ROLE DDN's legal team is small, fast-moving, and built to punch above its weight — through clear processes, well-run systems, and a growing set of AI-assisted workflows that let a lean team support a rapidly growing global business. We're hiring a Legal Operations Manager to own the day-to-day systems that make that possible: contract lifecycle management, intake and triage, reporting, outside counsel operations, and knowledge management.
This is a hands-on role for someone who has worked inside legal operations at a high-growth technology company and knows how to keep a legal team's engine running smoothly — someone who is as comfortable building a dashboard as they are refining an intake workflow or administering a CLM platform. You'll work closely with the Chief Legal Officer and cross-functionally with Sales, Rev.
Ops, Finance, and IT to keep legal's systems reliable, measurable, and easy for the rest of the company to use.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the legal side of contract lifecycle management — intake, routing, templates, repository, and reporting — in coordination with Rev. Ops and Sales Ops on the Order Form, CPQ, and contract-management systems that feed legal's workflow.
- Run and continuously improve the legal intake and triage process, including how requests are classified, assigned, drafted, reviewed, and closed.
- Administer and optimize core legal technology, including the CLM platform and any legal spend / matter-management tools, and help identify where AI-assisted or agentic workflows (e.g., Claude, Cowork) can reduce manual work — with good judgment about when to build versus buy.
- Build and maintain the reporting layer for the legal function — contract cycle time, deal and request volume, workload, and SLA performance — so leadership has a clear line of sight into how the team is performing.
- Own knowledge management for the team: keep playbooks, templates, and reference materials current, organized, and easy to find.
- Support outside counsel operations and the legal budget, including panel coordination, engagement tracking, and spend visibility.
- Help design and run operational cadences — intake SLAs, approval gates, and handoffs with Sales, Finance, and Security — that keep the legal function fast and accountable.
- Partner with the General Counsel on legal team initiatives and process improvements as the company scales, and provide operational support on M&A or other one-off transactions as needed (e.g., diligence and data-room coordination).
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 4+ years of experience in legal operations, business operations, or a similar role, ideally at a high-growth technology company.
- Hands-on experience administering CLM systems and other legal technology in a production environment.
- A track record of building or improving processes that measurably reduced cycle time or cost in a lean legal or operations environment.
- Comfort working with data — you can build and maintain the dashboards and metrics a legal team and its leadership actually use.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working across Legal, Rev. Ops, Sales Ops, Finance, IT, or Security.
- Clear, direct written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate operational detail into something the team will actually use.
- Interest in (or hands-on experience with) AI-assisted and agentic workflows for legal and operations work, with sound judgment about when to build a solution versus buy one.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate at the pace of a fast-growing company.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with outside counsel management, legal spend/budget tracking, or matter management.
- Experience helping stand up or scale a legal operations function.
- CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) involvement or comparable community engagement. LOCATION This role is based in DDN's New York City office and requires in-person collaboration a minimum of three days per week.
