Essential Job Functions Position: Bag Room Supervisor Department: Golf Normal Working Hours:

  • Past Work Experience Requirements:
  • 4 years in the golf business
  • Thorough knowledge of the game of golf
  • Prior demonstration of organizational skills
  • Prior supervisory experience or at least prior leadership demonstration in a golf bag room environment Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and some college Communication Skills Requirements:
  • All of the time working with customers outside
  • Must be steady and calm under pressure while quickly solving problems
  • Must be able to speak clearly, quickly and accurately
  • Must be able to lead, motivate and delegate responsibilities to a staff of 25
  • Must be able to communicate with a variety of people, in addition to the bag handling staff.
  • Polished telephone etiquette Technical Requirements:
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Some golf cart maintenance knowledge is required
  • Golf equipment and repair knowledge
  • Office equipment experience
  • Computer skills
  • Typing skills – 20 words per minute
  • Ability to operate range ball machine and range ball picker Physical Requirements:
  • Standing 8 – 10 hours per day
  • Lifting 10 – 20 pounds on a daily basis
  • Some bending and stooping
  • Must be mobile at all times
  • Ability to walk quickly up and down hills Work Conditions:
  • Hot and cold
  • Must be able to adapt to changing conditions throughout the day
  • Must be able to work in wind and rain
  • Moving golf carts
  • Working in wet areas (cart washing bay)
  • Some noise Required Supervision:
  • Some supervision needed
  • Most ideas and work are self-motivated
  • Independent problem solving Other Requirements:
  • Very detail oriented
  • Highly organized
  • Must be able to read and analyze starters sheets, and tournament pairings
  • Responsible for weekly scheduling
  • Neat and tidy
  • Must be able to evaluate performance to subordinates and articulate it verbally and in writing
  • Track record of completing assignments
  • Constant pressure and deadlines
  • Must be effective while performing several different duties simultaneously
