Roadside Herbicide Applicator  

Location: Joshua, Texas (Statewide Travel Required)

Join our growing team as a Roadside Herbicide Applicator, where you'll play a vital role in vegetation management along state and county rights-of-way while helping maintain safe travel corridors across Texas.

What You'll Do

As a Roadside Herbicide Applicator, you'll safely operate spray trucks and vegetation management equipment to control roadside vegetation throughout Texas. Working alongside an experienced crew, you'll help maintain highways, protect infrastructure, and support safe travel for motorists.

Your responsibilities

  • Safely operating spray trucks and application equipment on Texas roadways

  • Applying herbicides according to label requirements and DOT specifications

  • Performing roadside vegetation management on state and county rights-of-way

  • Setting up traffic control, signs, cones, and flagging operations

  • Completing required herbicide application records and DOT documentation

  • Conducting vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance

  • Loading and handling herbicides and application materials safely

  • Maintaining compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards

  • Supporting field crews with equipment operation and ground work as needed

  • Providing outstanding service while representing the company professionally

What We're Looking For

We're seeking dependable professionals who take pride in working safely and getting the job done right.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately

  • Ability to travel 50–75% throughout Texas, including overnight travel

  • Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL

  • Knowledge of herbicide applications and vegetation management practices

  • Current Texas herbicide applicator license (or equivalent state license transferable to Texas)

Physical Requirements

This is an active outdoor position requiring employees to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for 8–11 hours daily

  • Drive for extended periods

  • Lift and move equipment weighing 50 pounds or more

  • Work safely in Texas heat, humidity, rain, and other weather conditions

  • Navigate uneven terrain, roadside embankments, and vegetation

  • Work around wildlife, including snakes, insects, and spiders

  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
