Introduction Are you motivated by developing robust mechanical solutions for innovative lighting products used in demanding marine, offshore, and harsh environments? You'll design mechanical solutions that endure some of the harshest conditions on the planet — corrosive saltwater environments, explosive atmospheres, and the relentless vibration of offshore platforms.
What you build will be installed on vessels and structures across the globe. Glamox Marine, Offshore & Wind is looking for a Product Developer Mechanics to join our dedicated R&D team. This is a key role where your technical expertise directly influences product quality, performance, and reliability.
What you'll do
You will be involved in the design and development of mechanical solutions for advanced lighting products used in marine, offshore, and defense applications — collaborating closely with electronics, software, optical, and production engineers in a forward-thinking cross-functional environment. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON: — Design and develop mechanical solutions for next-generation lighting products — Create and refine 3D models, drawings, and technical product documentation — Participate in system integration to ensure seamless interaction between mechanical, electronic, optical, and software components — Plan, support, and document mechanical testing and product verification activities — Contribute to design for manufacturability, robustness, and long-term reliability of installation-friendly products — Contribute to mechanical development across other product categories when needed Who you are WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Qualifications — Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field — 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical product development — Experience in 3D CAD design software — Solid.
Works or similar tools — Good understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and assembly processes — Hands-on attitude with regard to prototyping and building functional mock-ups — Ability to collaborate closely with electronics, software, optical, production, and laboratory engineers — Experience with lighting products, thermal design, harsh environments, ATEX, or marine/offshore applications — considered a strong advantage — Strong communication skills in Norwegian and/or English Personal attributes — A team player with a collaborative mindset — Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — Curious, driven, and eager to learn new technologies — Thrives in a dynamic and innovative environment — Takes pride in delivering robust, high-quality solutions Why join Glamox We offer an end-to-end product development involvement — from prototyping and testing to industrialization and launch.
