Senior Manager
- Health Information & Communication Manager Core Responsibilities
- Patient Education & Health Information Systems ○ Design, validate and standardise multilingual patient education resources across diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, disability and palliative care. ○ Ensure all content is medically vetted, ethically sound, low-literacy friendly and suitable for high-stress settings. ○ Enable patient navigators, social workers and educators with structured toolkits, FAQs and counselling aids.
- Advocacy & Policy Communication ○ Translate clinical, programmatic and lived-experience insights into clear advocacy briefs, policy explainers and patient-rights communication. ○ Align CanKids’ advocacy language with national health priorities and global childhood cancer frameworks. ○ Support leadership with technically sound, evidence-based communication for consultations and submissions.
- Public Awareness & Health Communication ○ Conceptualise and support public awareness campaigns ○ Guide the scientific accuracy and ethical framing of public awareness campaigns. ○ Ensure storytelling balances emotional resonance with factual integrity and dignity. ○ Collaborate with design and digital teams to adapt health content for diverse platforms.
Requirements
- Training & State-Level Capacity Building ○ Design and institutionalise structured training for Health Information & Communication Officers across State Coordination Centres. ○ Develop training curricula, scripts and refresher modules to ensure consistent and ethical communication. ○ Lead induction and periodic refresher training using scenario-based learning.
- Health Helplines & Information Response Systems ○ Provide technical oversight for all health-information helplines. ○ Develop SOPs, triage frameworks, escalation pathways and approved response scripts. ○ Train teams in empathetic listening, distress management and scope boundaries. ○ Analyse helpline trends to inform education and advocacy priorities.
- Content Quality, Ethics & Governance ○ Act as custodian for accuracy, ethics and consistency of all health-related content. ○ Coordinate medical validation and periodic updates. ○ Maintain content repositories, approvals and version control. ○ Support fact-checking and content review for: i. Annual and impact reports ii. Donor and CSR communication iii. Case studies or Testimonials iv. External publications and presentations
- Internal Enablement & Collaboration ○ Enable CEPAA and program teams with: ■ Health communication frameworks ■ Ethical storytelling guidance ○ Support hospitals, CHSUs and Samanvay Kendras in contextual adaptation of approved materials
