Nephrologist

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests (e.g., renal function tests, imaging, biopsy results).
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases.
• Manage all aspects of dialysis care, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
• Lead and participate in kidney transplant evaluation processes, including pre-transplant assessments, donor compatibility testing, and coordination with transplant teams.
• Provide post-transplant follow-up care, monitoring for rejection, infection, and medication side effects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including transplant surgeons, nephrology nurses, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists.
• Stay current with advancements in nephrology and transplant medicine, integrating evidence-based practices into clinical care.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and hospital committees related to renal care.
• Mentor and supervise junior medical staff, residents, and medical students in nephrology rotations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. Requirements:
• MBBS degree with postgraduate qualification in Nephrology (DNB or MD in Nephrology) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 4–5 years of post-residency clinical experience in nephrology, with demonstrated expertise in kidney transplant evaluation and management.
• Board certification in Nephrology (or eligibility) and active registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI).
• Proven experience in managing complex renal cases, including dialysis and transplant-related complications.
• Strong knowledge of immunosuppressive therapy, transplant immunology, and long-term follow-up protocols.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation standards.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospital setting with on-call responsibilities as required.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient advocacy, and continuous professional development. Additional Requirements (if applicable):
• Experience in academic or research settings is preferred.
• Prior involvement in transplant coordination or participation in transplant committees is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with national transplant guidelines and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Transplantation of Human Organs Act).
