Unrivalled #Create. The. Future About this Role We are seeking a Lead Cloud Economist to establish and scale a Cloud Finance Management (Fin.
Ops) practice from the ground up. This role focuses on defining strategy, implementing governance, and delivering cost optimisation across cloud environments, starting with AWS and expanding to Azure and GCP. The individual will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to improve cost visibility, drive accountability, and deliver measurable financial outcomes.
What you’ll do Define and implement the Cloud Finance Management vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives. Establish governance frameworks, processes, policies, and best practices for cloud cost management. Analyse cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and GCP to identify optimisation opportunities. Deliver actionable recommendations including resource optimisation, savings plans, and efficient architecture design.
Build dashboards and reports to track cost trends, drivers, and optimisation progress. Extend Fin. Ops practices to multi-cloud environments with consistent governance and reporting. Collaborate with engineering, finance, and business teams to drive cost accountability. Implement tooling and automation for cost tracking, reporting, and optimisation.
Develop cloud cost forecasting models and integrate them into budgeting processes. Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and improve forecasting accuracy. Promote a culture of cost awareness and provide guidance on best practices. Continuously enhance Fin. Ops practices through innovation and updated knowledge of cloud pricing models Who you are Extensive experience in cloud cost management and optimisation across AWS, Azure, and GCPProven ability to build and scale a Cloud Finance Management (Fin.
Ops) practice. Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and billing mechanisms. Hands-on experience with AWS cost management tools and familiarity with Azure and GCP equivalents. Proficiency in data analysis, visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and scripting (e.g., Python). Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and understanding of cost implications.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present insights clearly. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
