Laboratory - Phlebotomist (Afternoons)

PHLEBOTOMIST JOB SUMMARY: The Phlebotomist is responsible for providing a positive patient experience while collecting and processing quality specimens accurately to support diagnosis and treatment. Shift Times: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet patients and the public in a professional and courteous manner.

Answer telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately. Perform venipuncture accurately while minimizing patient discomfort. Properly identify, label, register, and accession specimens according to established policies. Understand appropriate needles, anticoagulants, specimen handling, and test preparation. Assist with inventory management and stocking supplies.

Assist with specimen processing. Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of phlebotomy experience – Required Phlebotomy certification – Required. Experience working with neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations – Required. Candidate permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility – Required. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Resume/work history. Phlebotomy skills checklist completed within the last year.
