Job description
Senior Backend Developer We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems for our Video Editing platform. Your focus will be on PHP (Laravel) and MariaDB/MySQL, building reliable APIs and services that perform efficiently under heavy load.
You will collaborate closely with frontend, iOS, and QA teams to deliver secure, maintainable solutions.
Required skills
& experience: 7+ years of software development experience PHP (OOP, performance best practices) – strong expertise in building efficient backend code Laravel/Symfony – proven experience delivering and maintaining high-load, production-grade applications SQL (MariaDB/MySQL) – solid fundamentals in schema design, indexing and query optimization APIs (REST/GraphQL) – experience designing and operating scalable and secure interfaces Workers/Queues – practical experience with long-running jobs and background processing Real-time systems – hands-on experience with Web.
Sockets, pub/sub patterns and message brokers Docker/CI/CD – commercial experience with GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions or similar Linux – confident usage for deployment, troubleshooting, scripting and automation SOLID Principles – ability to apply them when making architectural decisions Nice to have: Automated testing (PHPUnit, Laravel Dusk) – ability to cover Unit, Feature, Integration, and E2E flows Media pipelines (ffmpeg, codecs, streaming, chunked uploads) – experience integrating video/audio processing workflows Security (OWASP Top 10, auth, hardening) – familiarity with modern web security practices Observability (Sentry, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) – practical usage for monitoring and debugging Cloud/IaC (AWS, Terraform, Ansible) – experience deploying and managing scalable environments Ceph clusters (RADOS, RBD, CephFS, RGW S3) – exposure to distributed storage systems AI/LLM – experience integrating inference or API-driven workflows Collaborative editing (CRDT/OT) – knowledge of real-time data sync approaches Education – degree in Computer Science or related field
