Year In Industry Programme 2027- 2028 Vacancy Reference: CLA- 445 Position: Full-time Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK Salary: £26,000 per annum Closing date: 23rd October 2026 At Callen-Lenz, we are expanding the limits of what is possible. This is a one-year training programme designed to provide broad on-the-job training. Our one-year rotation programme will cover three mutually agreed modules from: System Engineering Integration of UAS systems (e.g. incorporation of powertrain, actuators, control systems, payloads) Maintain test facilities Air Vehicle Design Engineering Contributing to the design and development of avionics systems Supporting in the design process of navigation, communication, aircraft management and command and control (C2) systems Software Engineering Working on R&D projects and test scripts using modern languages Desktop application & Windows Forms GUI design Programming desktop apps to interact with a microcontroller-based system Maintain appropriate documentation and evidence to support product development, qualification and test Manufacturing Technology Contributing to the design of UAS platforms Supporting manufacture of UAS airframes (e.

g. creating moulds, 3D printing, composites lay-up) Operating a range of CNC machines Safe operation of workshop tools and equipment Project Management Develop and manage allocated projects via project plans Management of project risks and opportunities Reporting project progress as required advising immediately if control tolerance levels are exceeded Ensure projects remain within allocated budget Developmental Opportunities In addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience through your three selected modules, you'll have access to a range of development opportunities, including internal training programmes available to all colleagues, digital learning resources, and peer-to-peer support.

All of this is underpinned by regular 1 to 1’s with your line manager and more formal quarterly conversations to check in on your development progress.

About You

You will be working towards, and on track to achieve, a minimum 2:1 BSc or Master's degree in a Science or Engineering discipline. A passion for aerospace is essential, and a full UK driving licence would be advantageous due to the location of our office.
