Job description

The Strategic Buyer leads the procurement trade goods overall sourcing strategies, including development of category and supplier strategy roadmap, aligning w/ the product roadmaps, future technology needs. Supplier key account function for ODM/OEM/JDM partners. Responsible for commercial topics: frame contracts negotiation, price negotiations and cost reduction within span of control.

Supplier Sourcing & Selection. Supplier performance evaluation and management. Supplier relationship management and risk control.

Key Responsibilities

Development of Category and Supplier Strategy Roadmap Alignment w/ project procurement and respective brand leaders on products roadmaps, future technology needs. Market scouting on own responsible categories / material fields. Participating important fairs to source new suppliers. Development and finalization of category and supplier strategy roadmap continuously to fulfill the business needs.

Supplier Sourcing & Selection Identify, evaluate, and responsible for onboarding of qualified vendors to support business needs. Support negotiation of new awardings with project buyer to ensure total cost, year of year reduction, risk, and strategic fit. Ensure supplier selection aligns with commodity/category strategies and company processes.

Participating and support all awarding proposals for new projects. Cost Management & Commercial Ownership Lead negotiations frame contracts including Corporate Agreement, Quality Assurance Agreement, Logistic Agreement, Frame Conditions Agreement w/ key suppliers, etc. Driving cost reduction KPI’s including annual price negotiation, technical savings, payment term, consignment and logistic terms optimization.

Supplier Performance Evaluation and Management Leading supplier performance score card evaluation in digitalized ways including major aspects: Cost, Logistic, Quality. Leading quarter business review meetings with key suppliers and high levels. Participating onsite supplier audits. Supporting supplier performance development in all aspects.

Support escalations in case of severe logistic or quality incidents. Supplier Relationship Management and Risk Control Supplier risk monitoring and control in financial, compliance, cyber risk, CSR, etc. Supplier / product EOL management, commercially responsible to reduce liability risk.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred). Experience 3+ years in Purchasing/Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supplier Management within project‑based environments. Skills & Competencies Strong negotiation, commercial, and contract management skills. Proactive risk identification and escalation.

Cross‑functional communication and stakeholder management across Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Finance. Analytical/problem‑solving capability; familiarity with should‑cost modeling and cost breakdowns. Proficiency with ERP and MS Office. Strong ownership mindset, clear communication, and bias for action in fast‑changing environments.

Experience with supplier risk analysis, innovation scouting.
