Hearing Instrument Specialist Audiologist
Job description
An established, multi-location private audiology practice is seeking an Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) for its Newburgh, NY location. The practice provides comprehensive, patient-centered hearing healthcare with an emphasis on prevention, advanced hearing technology, and personalized treatment solutions.

Scope of Practice & Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations for adult patients following best practice guidelines.
Counsel patients on hearing test results and recommend appropriate hearing solutions based on individual needs and lifestyles. Fit, program, and dispense hearing aids, including daily-wear and extended-wear technology. Provide follow-up care, hearing aid adjustments, troubleshooting, and ongoing patient support. Educate patients and caregivers on hearing loss, hearing technology, and realistic expectations.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to state and professional standards. Build strong patient relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the Newburgh location.
Qualifications
Active New York State Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist license, or eligibility to obtain licensure. Experience fitting and dispensing hearing aids. Experience with Lyric and custom hearing solutions is a plus. Strong communication, counseling, and patient care skills. Ability to manage a full patient schedule while maintaining a high standard of care.

Compensation
& Benefits Earning Potential: $155,000–$185,000 through base salary and uncapped commissions. Guaranteed commission during the initial ramp-up period, gradually transitioning to performance-based earnings as the patient base grows. Generous Paid Time Off (PTO).
