Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service in a dynamic retail environment? We are currently seeking a Retail Assistant to join the team for a well known Supermarket Brand within a University setting. As a Retail Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a professional and efficient retail service to a diverse range of customers.
Job Purpose: Delivering a high standard of customer experience in line with the Morrisons Daily brand Opening, operating, and closing the retail unit while adhering to cash and business controls Ensuring availability of products and maintaining an attractive unit Collaborating with management and colleagues to achieve store targets and enhance performance Adhering to food legislation, Health and Safety regulations, and control measures Duties and Responsibilities: Delivering exceptional customer experiences aligned with the store within a University setting.
Operating the retail unit, following cash and business controls, and adhering to policies and procedures. Providing high-quality service, maintaining an attractive unit, and ensuring product availability. Collaborating with colleagues and management to enhance store performance and achieve set targets. Adapting to flexible working schedules, ensuring compliance with cleaning rota and Health and Safety documentation.
Promoting and upselling promotions to customers, maximising sales opportunities. Assisting in training new staff, fostering an inclusive culture, and upholding customer service standards. Promoting equal opportunities in line with the University's policy. Taking responsibility for personal and colleagues' health and safety, following the University's guidelines.
Performing other reasonable duties within the scope of the role as assigned by the line manager. Work will involve early starts and late finishes to support the business and includes regular weekend work.
Requirements
Essential: GCSE level education or equivalent Experience using EPOS till systems and software Face-to-face customer service experience Desirable: Customer Service Qualification Basic Food Safety Qualification Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Essential: Excellent face-to-face customer service skills Knowledge of retail best practices, FIFO, and stock control Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team Good organizational skills with the ability to work under deadlines Ability to work towards targets and collaborate with team members Problem-solving abilities and fostering a team mentality Experience in flexible working within a team environment Basic food preparation skills Desirable Experience working in a well-recognised Supermarket brand Experience working in a busy food retail environment If you are a motivated individual with a passion for customer service, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
