Summary: The Resource Mobilization Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing Can. Kids’ mission by driving sustainable funding through strategic donor engagement, proposal development, and campaign execution. Reporting to the Chief Resource Mobilization and Communication Officer (CRMCO), this position is central to securing and maintaining financial support from corporate CSR programs, public sector units, international donors, foundations, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders.

The role demands a proactive, relationship-driven approach to donor acquisition and retention, combined with strong project management and compliance expertise. By aligning fundraising initiatives with organizational goals and program priorities, the officer ensures a steady flow of unrestricted, flexible resources essential for long-term impact and organizational growth.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine high-impact proposals, concept notes, and reports in collaboration with project teams to attract new donors and retain existing ones. Identify, cultivate, and convert donor leads, delivering proactive post-conversion engagement to ensure long-term donor satisfaction. Manage a portfolio of ₹15 Cr in donor relationships, ensuring consistent communication and personalized support tailored to donor interests.

Lead end-to-end planning and execution of resource mobilization events, campaigns, and donor engagement activities. Maintain and update the donor database with accurate, timely information to support strategic decision-making. Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual resource mobilization strategy and fundraising targets.

Collaborate with managers overseeing smaller donor portfolios (₹1–2 Cr) to ensure consistency and alignment in donor management approaches. Support organizational development initiatives, including staff training, onboarding, and cross-functional collaboration. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on proposal writing, donor stewardship, and fundraising best practices.

Ensure all fundraising activities, proposals, and donor interactions comply with organizational policies, legal standards, and donor requirements. Manage budgets transparently and effectively, aligning expenditures with donor expectations and project goals. Perform additional duties as assigned by the CRMCO.

Requirements

5–8 years of proven experience in resource mobilization, donor acquisition, or client-facing roles within nonprofit or development sectors. Demonstrated expertise in proposal writing, budget management, and donor relationship management. Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and donor reporting standards. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with a track record of building and sustaining strategic partnerships.

Proven success in securing funding from corporate CSR, PSU CSR, international donor agencies, foundations, trusts, and educational institutions. Proficiency in managing donor databases and using data to inform fundraising strategies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.

Key Deliverables: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Design and manage CSR initiatives aligned with donor priorities and organizational objectives. Donor Retention: Strengthen existing donor relationships through consistent, meaningful engagement and tailored communication. Donor Acquisition: Identify and secure new donor partnerships using innovative outreach and customized proposals.

Fundraising: Lead fundraising efforts through strategic campaigns, events, and proposal development to meet financial targets. Proposal Development: Deliver compelling, customized proposals, concept notes, and presentations for diverse donor audiences. Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to align fundraising activities with program goals and donor expectations.

Reporting and Analysis: Prepare timely donor reports, track key performance metrics, and leverage insights to refine strategies. Compliance: Ensure all fundraising activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and donor-specific requirements.
