As a Staff Accommodation AC Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems within staff accommodation facilities. The role ensures that all HVAC equipment operates efficiently, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for employees while complying with company policies and applicable safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Install, inspect, service, maintain, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems in staff accommodation buildings. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on split AC units, window AC units, VRF/VRV systems, exhaust fans, ventilation systems, and other HVAC equipment. Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure minimal downtime and maximum equipment reliability.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns reported by accommodation occupants or the Facilities team. Conduct routine inspections to monitor the performance and efficiency of air conditioning systems. Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor AC units, filters, evaporator and condenser coils, drain lines, and ventilation systems.

Check refrigerant levels, identify refrigerant leaks, and perform recharging in accordance with environmental regulations. Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, and replacement of parts. Coordinate with the Engineering Storekeeper or Facilities team to ensure the availability of required spare parts and materials.

Identify equipment requiring major repair or replacement and report findings to the Engineering Supervisor. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with local regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and company health, safety, and environmental standards. Practice proper handling and recovery of refrigerants to prevent environmental impact.

Support other maintenance activities within the staff accommodation facilities as assigned. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Qualifications

Certificate or Diploma from a recognized technical or vocational institute in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably in staff accommodation, residential buildings, hotels, or facility management. Sound knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and HVAC systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals. Experience with VRF/VRV systems is an advantage. Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to HVAC equipment. Familiarity with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
