Job description
A collaborative strategic position that is responsible for owning the end-to-end coordination of packaging development and execution across all brands and product categories. This is a project-management role, not a packaging design role. The coordinator translates product and brand requirements into clear timelines, deliverables, approvals, connecting Product Management, Brand Management, Design, Production, vendors, and overseas offices.
Responsibilities
Manage packaging projects from initial product RFQ through final approval, production release, and delivery, ensuring milestones, owners, and due dates are clearly defined. Partner with Product Managers to gather accurate product details from RFQ, dimensions, materials, selling features, care information, configurations, retailer requirements, and launch timing.
Coordinate with Brand Managers to secure brand direction and required approvals, and ensure packaging follows current brand guidelines, licensing requirements, and approved messaging. Coordinate with Packaging Department on packaging deliverables, revisions, priorities, and deadlines; confirm that approved information and assets are incorporated accurately.
Serve as the central point of contact among Product Management, Brand Management, Packaging, Production, sourcing/vendor partners, and overseas offices. Build and maintain master packaging trackers, timelines, status reports, approval logs, and version histories across brands, categories, and seasonal launches. Lead regular packaging status meetings, document decisions and action items, follow up with owners, and escalate schedule or information risks early.
Coordinate samples, mockups, and pre-production approvals with Production and overseas teams; track corrections through final sign-off. Support packaging updates caused by new products, line extensions, cost changes, retailer needs, regulatory changes, rebranding, or production requirements. Identify opportunities to standardize templates, checkpoints, trackers, and workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and accountability.
Essential Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Product Development or related discipline; or a minimum of five years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Three to four years of previous experience project-management or project-coordination experience, preferably in consumer products, home textiles, apparel, retail, packaging, licensing, or a related industry Demonstrated success managing multiple projects, stakeholders, deliverables, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and ability to review complex information for accuracy and consistency Excellent written and verbal communication, meeting facilitation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams Experience with project-management or workflow tools is preferred Comfort working across time zones and communicating with overseas offices and vendor partners Working knowledge of packaging development, artwork workflows, print production, dyelines, proofs, UPCs, product labeling, or compliance requirements is strongly preferred Must be able to multi-task on a routine basis, be detail-oriented, adapt plans and change direction as needed, have a proactive mindset and have the ability to perform the job under a moderate to high level of stress Possess strong organizational, negotiation, and analytical skills Possess a team oriented mentality Previous experience in successfully handling time sensitive projects and meeting assigned deadlines Must be able to prioritize work/projects and answer questions related to work assignments in a fast paced environment Ability to problem solve Ability to work with minimal supervision on a daily basis Ability to handle confidential information
