Senior Network Engineer, Singapore

Airwallex

SG - SingaporeFull-timePosted Feb 10, 2026

Job description

ABOUT AIRWALLEX Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including Mc. Laren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and Tik. Tok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own.

We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,300 people across 27 offices.

We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. Read our operating principles https://www.airwallex.com/en-us/operating-principles to see it in full. HOW YOU'LL MAKE IMPACT Airwallex’s corporate network needs to remain secure, reliable and scalable as our global footprint grows.

You’ll own critical network infrastructure and help shape the systems, practices and team capabilities that support our people across regions.

  • Build the foundations of Airwallex’s corporate network and help shape the team structure and capabilities needed as we grow.
  • Design, deploy and maintain secure, highly available LAN, WAN, wireless and VPN infrastructure across our global offices and regions.
  • Design multi-region hybrid network patterns connecting physical offices, data centres and cloud environments, including AWS and Alibaba Cloud.
  • Configure and operate global connectivity across international leased lines and domestic internet connections, working across mixed-vendor environments.
  • Lead the configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless access points.
  • Own Corp. Net as a first responder and escalation point for complex network incidents, taking issues through to resolution and completing after-action reviews.
  • Partner with Corp. Sec, Prod. Sec, Engineering, Product, IT Engineering, Workplace and other teams to integrate network solutions and support business initiatives.
  • Work with IT Engineering and IT Support to troubleshoot endpoint network issues and build core networking capability across the team.
  • Use infrastructure-as-code and automation, including Terraform and Ansible, to improve network consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate networking technologies and solutions that support Airwallex’s continued growth.
  • Mentor and coach network engineers, share knowledge, support skill development, manage performance and help attract strong talent.
  • Participate in a global follow-the-sun on-call rotation for corporate networking issues, with occasional after-hours or weekend work for network upgrades where needed to minimise business disruption. You’ll work from our Singapore office five days a week.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

ESSENTIALS

  • Senior-level experience designing, implementing and maintaining Juniper and Palo Alto Networks solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a global, multi-vendor networking environment, including technologies such as Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco and Aruba.
  • Experience with networking solutions for mainland China and international connectivity.
  • Strong fundamentals in Wi-Fi technology and endpoint engineering; hardware experience is a plus, including Juniper Mist, Cisco Meraki or Aruba.
  • Expert command-line configuration skills across networking hardware and vendors, including JunOS and IOS.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting complex corporate network environments.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to move quickly and make sound decisions with incomplete information when supporting a global business. PREFERRED
  • Strong knowledge of Palo Alto Networks Global. Protect, Prisma and Prisma Cloud.
  • Experience managing or leading a team of network engineers, ideally in a startup or scaling environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, alongside five or more years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of common identity standards, including SAML, OAuth and SSO.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS or GCP.
  • Understanding of RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, ACLs and common access-management principles in security and corporate IT environments.
  • Experience working with SaaS-based systems and applications.
  • Strong understanding of MDM systems across macOS and Windows, including Kandji, Jamf and Intune. YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF
  • You're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself.
  • You’re comfortable operating across time zones with a globally distributed team, including colleagues based in APAC and EMEA.
  • You own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken.
  • You’re comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway.
  • You say what you mean. You're direct, but you lead with respect. LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR TEAM Engineering at Airwallex is for people who want to define a category, not maintain one. We're reimagining how businesses interact with finance from the ground up, AI- and agent-native by default, think agent wallets, agentic bookkeepers, and spend-management autopilots, with APIs designed for agents as first-class users. The hard part is trust: building agent-native systems precise enough to move real money autonomously, on top of a decade of real infrastructure. This is a team for engineers who'd rather own an unsolved problem than inherit a mature one. If you want frontier problems, teammates who raise your standards, and a genuine clean slate on world-class infrastructure, this is the place to build it. #Singapore #Sydney #Melbourne #San.
