Job description
We are looking for a motivated, practical, and enthusiastic Estates Team Member to join our friendly team. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will help maintain our grounds, buildings, and animal facilities to a high standard, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and well cared for.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out daily animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal welfare, and maintaining accurate records. Maintain gardens, lawns, borders, and landscaped areas through planting, pruning, mowing, weeding, and seasonal maintenance. Undertake general maintenance and repair work across the homes and school sites, including basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and other practical tasks.
Assist with fencing, pathways, outdoor structures, and estate infrastructure. Operate and maintain gardening and maintenance equipment safely. Ensure high standards of cleanliness, health and safety, and biosecurity are maintained Respond to maintenance issues promptly and support planned improvement projects. Work collaboratively with colleagues and be willing to assist across different areas of the estate as required About You The successful candidate will: Have practical experience in one or more of the following: animal care, grounds maintenance, gardening, or general property maintenance.
Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Have good problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude. Be reliable, organised, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Take pride in maintaining high standards and attention to detail. Hold a full UK driving licence.
Have relevant qualifications or experience in animal care, horticulture, or maintenance. If you enjoy practical work, have a passion for caring for animals and the environment, and take pride in maintaining buildings and grounds, we would love to hear from you.
