Position Location This position is onsite and located in Dededo, Guam. Job Overview The HVAC Technician performs installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems supporting Field Office Spaces (FOS), latrines, administrative trailers, and climate-controlled storage.
Responsibilities include
maintaining environmental temperature, humidity, ventilation, condensate drainage, and standby environmental control units (ECUs) in accordance with PWS mechanical requirements. Pay Rate: 23.45hr Responsibilities Essential Job Duties: Maintain environmental temperature between 64°-80°F and relative humidity between 40% and 60% for all FOS and climate-controlled spaces.
Install and maintain stand-alone HVAC units as required to meet temperature and humidity standards. Support HVAC installations for latrine units, ensuring temperature is maintained at 76°–82°F with proper ventilation. Provide venting and condensate drainage systems as required by mechanical specifications. Support environmental control for communications shelters and administrative trailers equipped with ECUs.
Respond within one business day to HVAC system failures at Site Complete HVAC repairs or replacements within two days of notification for Site Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems in FOS, latrines, GFP facilities, and trailers, including routine exterior cleaning to minimize corrosion. Ensure facilities and equipment remain free of mold and mildew through routine treatment and preventative measures.
Perform HVAC tasks in accordance with UFC 3-410-01 Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems. Ensure all HVAC-related work complies with Federal, GEPA, DoD, Service Branch, and host installation regulations. Coordinate environmental approvals with COR and AOFN before performing mechanical work requiring review.
Ability to work overtime as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: High school graduate or equivalent GED. Five (5) years’ of experience in the HVAC trade in service and maintenance. Possess a valid HVAC Journeyman License or equivalent. Possess a valid CFC Certification and carry on their person at all times.
Experience maintaining HVAC systems in accordance with UFC 3-410-01 and other DoD mechanical standards. Ability to install and maintain stand-alone HVAC units and ECUs supporting temporary facilities. Knowledge of temperature control, humidity control, ventilation, and condensate drainage requirements. Experience supporting HVAC components within expeditionary or temporary facility environments.
Training compliant with Federal, GEPA, and host installation mechanical and environmental requirements. Preferred: Competency in Excel, Word and Outlook. Possess the required security clearance. Compensation
